This week I attended the Los Angeles Gift Show at The Reef, located at the Los Angeles Gift Mart.

The Trends I saw happening for 2017 are: Black & White, Natural Artisan, Modern Nostalgia, Palm Beach, Cuba, Blue and White Chinois, World Vibes.

My art is usually made with bold color combinations. This go-round I decided to add some Neutrality. I feel as though there are many skin tones that are considered nude. I also do love all shades of gray between the ever popular Black & White. So here are some lovely new choices for your Neutral Home, available in my Kess InHouse Gallery of Designs.  

I just read a great article today from J.Walter Thompson Intelligence on The New Nude.  There are many shades of nude represented finally in Fashion today. So, why not add some Nude and Gray to your home?

African Adventure Collection for Zazzle Heart

 I love everything about Africa and am so happy to share my new African Adventure Collection by Nina May Designs by Zazzle Heart.  All goods are handmade in Kenya by local Artisans. A collaboration with the Ubuntu organization, which empowers women to achieve financial independence in Kenya.

You can buy: Tote Bags, Phone Cases, Journals and Zippered Clutch. All handmade in Leather or Green Canvas with beaded leather tag detail and stitching.

My heart has been influenced by African Culture since the early 1980's when I heard African Music on local Radio here in Los Angeles on KCRW and KPFK. The Patterns, Tribal Elements, Music, Printing Techniques, Cuisine and Fashion have been an influence for my art for many years. I lose myself and go on a mental safari while painting, drawing and creating patterns on my Mac.
